Dili bir materyal olarak hayal edersek neye benzerdi? Uhrevi olmak için fazla ağdalı, dilin iletişim başarısız kaldığında, insanları birbirine bağlayan fiziksel bir materyal olarak ele alındığı yoğun bir deneyimdir. Soyut çizimlerden ifade eylemselliğine, Ignacio Tejedor izleyiciyi kavrayışın olasılıklarında gezdirir. Tejedor’un önermesi her bir kelimenin arkasında gizli öznellikten yola çıkarak algının kırılganlığını görünür kılmayı dener.
Ignacio Tejedor Madrid merkezli İspanyol bir sanatçıdır. Complutense Üniversitesi’nde sanatsal ve küratöryel pratikler üzerine doktorasını tamamlamıştır. Sanatsal pratiği kurgusal olaylar ve gündelik hayatın arasında var olur; sanatı bir beceri olarak kullanarak bu ikisi arasındaki mesafenin nasıl birleştirilebileceğini araştırır. Performans, yerleştirme, çizim ve küratörlüğü toplumsal kurguların biçim verdiği gerçeklik sınırlarının sorgulandığı atmosferler inşa etmek için kullanır. Sanatsal ve küratöryel projelerini geliştirdiği ülkeler arasında İspanya, İngiltere, İtalya, ABD, Sırbistan ve şimdi Türkiye bulunmaktadır.
Inez Piso İstanbul merkezli, dilin sınırları ve çeviril(eme)me konularıyla ilgilenen bir küratördür.

Let’s imagine language as a material, what would it look like? Too viscous to be ethereal is an immersive experience where language is thought of as a physical material used to link bodies together when communication fails. From abstract drawing to idiom performativity, Ignacio Tejedor takes us through the possibilities of comprehension. His proposition departs from the subjectivity hidden behind every word and attempts to unveil the vulnerability of perception.
Ignacio Tejedor is a Spanish artist based in Madrid. He holds a PhD in artistic and curatorial practices from the University Complutense. His artistic practice takes place between fictional issues and daily life and he researches how art can be used as a skill to bridge the distance between those two. He uses performance, installation, drawing and curating to build atmospheres where we can question the limits of reality formed as a social construction. He has developed his artistic and curatorial projects in Spain, England, Italy, US, Serbia and now in Turkey.
Inez Piso is a curator based in Istanbul who is interested in the borders of language and topics on (un)translatability.

Pensemos que el lenguaje fuese un material ¿qué aspecto tendría? Demasiado viscoso para ser etéreo es una experiencia inmersiva donde el lenguaje es entendido como un material físico, utilizado para acercar los cuerpos cuando la comunicación verbal se agota. Partiendo de una serie de dibujos disuasivos, Ignacio Tejedor reflexiona sobre la performatividad que exige la comunicación entre personas que hablan diferentes idiomas. Esta propuesta trata de demostrar la subjetividad que se esconde detrás de cada palabra que utilizamos.
Ignacio Tejedor (Madrid), doctor en prácticas artísticas y curatoriales por la UCM, compagina la investigación académica con la producción artística, utilizando diferentes formatos como la instalación, el dibujo, la performance o el comisariado para formalizar los resultados de sus investigaciones. Su trabajo se centra en el estudio de los límites entre la realidad y la ficción, a través de propuestas que ponen en crisis los hábitos asociados a contextos socioculturales. Ha desarrollado sus proyectos en Inglaterra, Italia, Estado Unidos, Serbia y ahora Turquía.
Inez Piso es comisaria de arte residente en Estambul que investiga las fronteras de lenguaje y las fricciones de la traducción.
